YOU KNOW IT IN YOUR HEART TO BE TRUE
Well you’ve come to the right person for an answer! :)
The 2003 version of Fullmetal Alchemist was made as the manga was still being published, and after the first few episodes it caught up with the manga very fast and ran out of material. At this point the creators, with the mangaka’s approval, decided to take the 2003 anime in a very different direction from the manga, creating new characters like Dante and a new plotline, resulting in a show unique from the manga with a different ending. By the time they decided to make the 2009 anime, the manga was almost finished, and the studio was able to create a very accurate anime adaptation of the entire manga.
Both anime also have a movie that fits into their continuities: Conqueror of Shamballa (which I LOVE) for the 2003 anime, and The Sacred Star of Milos for the 2009 anime.
There is no “right” or “wrong” series to watch. I like to think of them as two different universes with the same character and same initial plot — they just diverge at some point in the middle and have different endings. It’s something of a luxury enjoyed by us FMA fans, in fact. Every time we watch the series we get to choose our ending:)
I hope that helped!
I was digging though my old gifs and I found one that is the BEST representation of crossplayers. xP
THE GOOD GUYS survey has closed. Thank you so much to everyone who took it! I got a lot of great results and I’ll compile them together. They’ll be out by next week. (Shout out to the-fullmetal-alchemyst, who reblogged that and suddenly got me a lot more responses than I could ever hope for. Thanks! :D)
This week’s survey, THE BAD GUYS, is up now! If you’re a fan of FMA, please take it! Click here. :)
Next week’s survey: THE JOURNEY!
Once again, please take this survey guys! :)
Today I got to meet the awesome prince-of-the-palmtrees in PERSON! She’s in town for the Congressional Art Show where she will be receiving all the prestige she deserves for her amazing art, and so we met up on the National Mall and explored the Air and Space Museum and such.
She even gave me (I’m still in shock) a page from her sketchbook! (Forgive the shitty webcam pic)
Unfortunately I had to bend it to get it to fit my incredibly tiny purse. Thank you, Rose! I’m gonna hang this up in my room by that caricature I showed you! :)
Never having met an internet friend IRL before, it was a cool experience! The first thing we did was hug and simultaneously say “You’re real!” or something to that effect xD
Anyway, my dear Rose/Envy, it was WONDERFUL to finally meet you! Enjoy your stay in D.C.!
(Also I swear that is someone’s shadow on my shorts and shirt, I did not get dunked in a pool or pee my pants. xP)
